History of the winery
Viña Cobos produces wines that naturally express the terroir from which they come. Paul Hobbs, founding partner and winemaker of Viña Cobos, has been working since 1988 on the exploration of the different terroirs of Mendoza, looking for the most outstanding regions within Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, for the elaboration of unique wines.
A sustainable management of the vineyard allows to achieve balanced harvests and high quality fruit, from there a careful treatment of the grape and a meticulous process of elaboration, gives rise to complex and elegant wines, of great subtlety and balance.
Since the first harvest of Cobos Malbec in 1999, Viña Cobos has marked a milestone in viticulture, challenging the limits of quality to place Argentina next to the world’s great producers. Currently, his prestige is recognized by critics and consumers around the world.
