VIÑA ALICIA Winery

History of the winery

With more than 25 years of research and study to achieve “wines of excellence”, in 1998 Alicia Mateu Arizu, wife of the renowned “winemaker” Alberto Arizu (alma mater of Luigi Bosca), together with the youngest of his three children, Rodrigo Arizu , began the commercialization of the wines that bear his name.

With characteristics “chateau”, the winery “Viña Alicia” is surrounded by a vineyard of 10 hectares of grapes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and some strains hard to find in Argentina, such as Nebbiolo, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Albariño and Savagnin.

Although the winery has a production capacity of 50,000 liters, it only sells 25,000 bottles of Viña Alicia, and 80,000 bottles of both Paso de Piedra, per year, which are exported in all 14 countries.

“Viña Alicia” enjoys today the prestige and international recognition of the most outstanding personalities of the world of wine.
